Sun 16th September
Departing from Kei Mouth, a great days ride to Kob Inn - 85km. The route takes us past the famous Jacaranda shipwreck and many river crossings. The Koboqaba, Cebe and Qora are our 3 big rivers for Day 1. The gorge between Kob Inn and Mazeppa Bay will be our final obstacle - difficulty is about 3/5. We overnight at Qora Beach House.
Mon 17th September
We depart along the coast over Jujura River and on to the magnificent Shixini Point. We then head north after crossing this river and pass through Beecham Wood to regroup with our backup vehicle at Bashee River. After leaving Bashee, we travel into the Dwesa Reserve and continue to Haven Hotel.
Tues 18th September
The best riding in the world as we make our way to Coffee Bay!! We cross the Xora River about 6km upstream and wind our way down to Bulungulu and then up the coast. Beautiful scenery and massive grass hills make this a very special day. The final mine chute to the majestic Hole-in-the-Wall is our final hurdle for the day. Our overnight spot - Ocean View Hotel.
Wed 19th September
This is a short day but one of the most picturesque as we hug the coast all the way past Hole-in-the-Wall, Mpami, Bulungulu and then cross the Xora River about 7km inland. The Xora beach house has incredible views overlooking the mangroves and beautiful Xora River. It's our home for 2 nights and Agnes' home-made bread, crayfish and prawns make this a place to remember.
Thursday 20th September
Rest Day – Charity Project - Xora
Fri 21st September
A long day in the saddle as we ride back through the wonderful fishing village of Ntlotonyane, Dwesa Reserve and cross the Bashee River. Our big challenge is the Qora Gorge again before finishing at the home of the Great White Shark - Mazeppa Bay.
Sat 22nd September
Another great day through Mpame State Forest and on to Seaguls Hotel. We usually get in by lunchtime and spend the afternoon on the beach. This is our final night and a celebration of our achievements is in order!
