Nkholi Primary School received their Container Library from the AVBOB Foundation in 2013. This resource has been well embraced by the teachers and learners at the school. The school has integrated the Library into its school timetable and further utilises it for extra-curricular activities such as Spelling Bee and Reading clubs.

On the 1st of February 2017, the MultiChoice Make a Difference team stepped into Nkholi Primary School with an aim to achieve two things:

To assist the school in hosting their first inter-school Spelling Bee and the much-needed make-over of their staffroom.

The staffroom received a fresh lick of paint in addition to the other repairs which were conducted.

The Spelling Bee Competition was hosted by Nkholi Primary School and the visiting school was Hurlyvale Primary School. The MultiChoice Make a Difference team donated to the school a sound system, trophies and medals which would make hosting such a competition a success.

15 learners from each school were represented and each learner was given a list of 150 words to learn for this competition.

The gruelling “word-off” competition was won by Katlego Kamela from Nkholi Primary and there was a

3-way tie for second place with Thakgalo Somo and Rorisang Moerane from Nkholi Primary and Angelique Patmore from Hurlyvale Primary.

Touch Africa’s overarching vision and mission is “making school a better place” and our success is largely placed on the support of all our stakeholders.
